Marketing & Sales
"Marketing creates the environment for sales to be made." -
Andrew Nester
While the Internet has added a new twist to the marketing
and sales process the basics stay the same...
it's the delivery, the ability to reach the masses worldwide
and the speed at which sales can be made that the Internet has
changed.
With the process being faster… and more broadcast in nature…
Internet marketing messages are often delivered daily adding to
the deluge of messages one gets every day from all other
sources: radio, TV, cell phones, telemarketers, direct sales
people, magazines, newspapers, billboards, direct mail (snail
mail).
Consumer Reports show that the average person is exposed to
anywhere from 247 to 3000 sales messages a day. That’s a lot!
In the face of that, you may be thinking, "How do I get my
message seen, read and converted to money in the bank?"
Even with the Internet we still have:
- Direct Sales people on the street, in businesses of all
types and on the phone. And we will have these well into
the foreseeable future.
- Direct Marketing (snail mail). Note: Internet marketing
is a form of Direct Marketing.
- Media Advertising.
On the Internet we now market and sell worldwide, directly
to the consumer, as well as to businesses of all types.
In all cases you are still marketing and selling to one
person at a time. Thus the basic premises of marketing and
sales that have been around for centuries still work, and
simply need to be adapted to today’s fast paced
environment.
Your marketing and sales strategies have to take all this
into consideration, regardless of who you're marketing to.
